WHY WE DO
WHAT WE DO.
CHRIST'S LOVE
COMPELS US.
When two Christian women walked into Southbridge ninety-five years ago — on a mission to support children and their families — it’s hard to imagine they could have ever anticipated the lasting impact of their work.
Decades later, our founders’ dedication to serving low-income communities is in our DNA. Their care and concern for the neighborhood and those who live there continue to shape who we are and what we do.
And while a lot of things have changed since 1927, one thing remains the same: Christ’s love compels our service.
WE LOVE BECAUSE
GOD FIRST LOVED US.
At the heart of everything we do at Neighborhood House is an understanding that we are loved by God. And that love is not exclusive. It’s for everyone to experience.
Without exception, every person who walks through our doors is loved by God. You are loved by God.
How do we know this? John writes, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
God shows his love for the world not by withholding anything, but by giving everything. God held nothing back. And just like his Father, Jesus arrives on the scene and holds nothing back. Nothing.
Our part is to respond in faith, to believe in Jesus.
Responding to the invitation to believe in Jesus — to trust him with your life — is the start of a journey that is fueled and marked by love.
As the unbreakable love of God works its way into the deepest parts of who we are, it changes us, frees us, and sets a new course for our lives — one marked by a deep trust in the One who knows our struggle and walks with us through it.
Today, why not take a step towards Jesus? He loves you. And through a life devoted to helping others, he has opened the door for you to enter into a relationship with him.
WE WANT YOU TO
KNOW THIS LOVE.
