Neighborhood House, Inc. is a multi-purpose non-profit community center located in South Wilmington and Middletown. Founded in 1927, the center promotes community engagement and development. The mission is to provide programs that educate, enlighten and empower people to improve their lives. This is accomplished by offering comprehensive services that include a Five Star Early Learning Center, Family Services and Crisis Alleviation, year-round Youth Development Programs, Comprehensive Housing Counseling that includes credit building and first-time home buyer’s support and foreclosure counseling. Our newest service to the community is The Neighborhood Empowerment Center where we facilitate workforce development programs, credit building workshops and teach a variety of computer skills.

After School Homework Help, Summer Enrichment Camp, and Extended Hours Programs are all part of our Youth Service Programs that provide a structured environment where youth have access to computers and socialize in a safe and caring environment.
This program is designed to assist families and individuals to meet their immediate basic needs of food, heat, and electricity in crisis situations while helping them become more stable going forward. This program is available at both our Wilmington and Middletown locations.
Housing Services is a source of information to countless New Castle County residents with housing concerns and issues in the areas of Pre-Purchase, Foreclosure Prevention, Rental Assistance and Financial Empowerment Counseling.
